'Low Water End' has almost magical properties!
Hidden away in the heart of Arthur Ransome country with
enough grounds for children to play all day without complaining,
with lake frontage, boats, a slipway and not a computer
game, TV or video in sight.
Coniston Water is a peaceful lake. Readers of ‘Swallows
and Amazons’ will recognise many of the settings
in the story: the secret harbour on ‘Wild Cat’
island, ‘Octopus’ lagoon and so on. Click

details about Coniston Water
What is now known as 'Low Water End' is a property with
two self catering holiday cottages with 200 yards of lake
frontage, at the southern end of Coniston Water in the
beautiful Lake District. It covers approximately 3 acres
of land, part wood, part marsh, part lawn, between the
road and the lake shore. It is unspoilt and very secluded.
It was eventually brought in 1953 by the grandparents
of the current owners.
