Car parking areas are immediately by the garage, and next to the Lake Cottage.

In the garage is a table tennis table, and in the old cottage there is a radio, and a piano. There are supplies of playing cards, games and jigsaw puzzles.

Pets are allowed but a small fee (to cover extra cleaning) is payable and owners must be responsible and clean up after their animals.

Shopping

Tesco

There are not many shops nearby however there is a big Tesco's at Barrow which will deliver straight to the door. Just add the postcode LA12 8DN as an alternative delivery address before you start entering your items. You can arrange the delivery for the evening you arrive - taking the stress out of the start of your holiday!!

After Water Yeat, go over cattle grid. 200 yrds further on, Low Water End is opposite 'Lake Bank'' Gate is at the bottom of the dip in the road. Please enter drive and walk down path to cottages.

Other Shopping

Ulverston - 8 miles south. Good sized market town. Market days, Thursday and Saturday. Mostly fairly small, local type shops Early closing: Wednesday pm.

  Coniston - 6 miles north - much smaller, fewer shops, but open on Sundays.

Bedding

We now provide complete bedding - covers, duvets, pillows; and their laundry is included. There are some spares in the airing cupboard in the back bedroom of the Old Cottage. You will need to provide your own towels.

Television

There is no television provided (it’s amazing what the children find to do without one!!) There is no TV licence for the place so if you do bring your own TV you will need to cover it with your own television licence, as we do not have one. There is an analogue TV in the cupboard in the back bedroom of the old cottage which has a scart socket and so can be used for games consoles and/or DVD players (which again, are not provided)

Milk

Unfortunately there is no longer a milkman covering this area. Please make your own arrangements to buy milk as necessary.

Recycling

There are fortnightly collections of waste from LWE and this is just about sufficient providing people recycle their waste where possible.
There is a compost bin for vegetable waste in the bushes between the Old Cottage and the Lake Cottage. Non recyclable paper (such as envelopes) can be burnt in the incinerator by the garage.

There are recycle bins at the gate for glass/cans and paper for each property but they are often insufficient for two weeks worth of recycling. It would be helpful if guests could take recycling materials to recycling points where possible.

Booths Supermarket at Ulverston recycle plastics as well as glass, cans and paper. There is a recycling point on Lake Road, Coniston which recycles the following;

Cardboard, Glass, Paper, Plastic bags, Plastic bottles and containers, Salvation Army bank,
